An American rock band formed in 1973 in San Francisco. Started around Neal Schon (ex-Santana) and others, they began with a more progressive sound, then blew up big after Steve Perry joined, shifting to a melodic arena rock/hard rock style.
Signature tracks include “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Open Arms,” “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” and “Any Way You Want It.” Especially the 1981 album Escape and 1983’s Frontiers are still talked about as absolute classics.
